Create a Lifestyle in... San Diego County!

San Diego offers a Mediterranean Climate, Beautiful Beaches and a Laid-Back Lifestyle.

San Diego is a dynamic, metropolitan city
with a laid-back, small-town feel.

Situated in the southwestern corner of California, San Diego County is a large county spread out over 4,200 square miles. With a population of over 3 million people it is the second most populous county in California. The area is best characterized by its Mediterrean climate, majestic coastline, world-class resorts, renowned attractions and beautiful beaches. Local residents and vacationing tourists are also attracted to its slower pace of life and a laid-back, tropical small-town feel compared to most large U.S. metropolitan areas. San Diego is also known for its longtime association with the U.S. Navy.

Bordered by the Pacific Ocean to the west and Laguna Mountains to the east, the Greater San Diego area is composed of an eclectic mix of towns and communities in the surrounding hills, canyons and along its 70 miles of beaches. From the urban neighorhoods of San Diego's downtown to the suburban towns and villages, San Diego County provides a vast variety of living choices to fit any lifestyle.

Explore The Neighborhoods of San Diego County

The communities that make up the Greater San Diego area are unique and diverse, each with its own character and charm. Explore the region from Downtown San Diego to the surrounding beach-front communities and villages such as Cardiff By The Sea, Del Mar, La Jolla, Imperial Beach, Olivenhain, Pacific Beach, Poway, Rancho Santa Fe, and Solana Beach. Whether you are looking for a quiet beach-front vacation home or a trendy downtown condo, Gerri-Lynn can help you find your new home in Greater San Diego...

Downtown San Diego

For beauty, excitement and convenience, no urban center can beat sunny Downtown San Diego! Downtown San Diego offers eight distinctive neighborhoods - Core, Columbia, Cortez Hill, East Village, Gaslamp Quarter, Horton Plaza, Little Italy and Marina - each with its own history, character and lifestyle. More than 24,000 people live downtown San Diego, drawn by the ability to live in a scenic, safe and vibrant atmosphere with homes within walking distance of workplaces, shopping, schools, recreation, entertainment, public transit and more.

Cardiff By The Sea

With over 3 miles of shoreline, Cardiff-by-the-Sea is the ultimate beach community of under 15,000 residents located within the City of Encinitas. Real estate homes are at a premium here, with many of the hillside properties offering spectacular Pacific Ocean views. Moreover, Cardiff boasts an upcoming retail sector focusing on exquisite cuisine and close proximity to downtown Encinitas shopping district.

Del Mar

If you’ve ever stepped into to Del Mar you’ll understand the reason for the popularity of this gorgeous seaside community. Noted for its small community charm, magnificent beaches, fair weather, a picturesque town center, and a world renown horse racing track, Del Mar is a dream location for residents and one of California’s most sought after vacation rental destinations with two square miles of coastal land presenting ocean views over the Pacific. Thousand of visitors visit Del Mar in the summertime for the San Diego County fair as well to attend the horse races that last for 3 months out of the year.

La Jolla

La Jolla, with a population of about 29,000, is a desirable beachfront community within the City of San Diego that has become one of California’s most popular resort towns. Visitors and residents live in La Jolla due to the fact that it boasts one of California’s most beautiful coastlines and the perfect mix of hillside to capitalize on its amazing views. It’s sun-soaked most of the year, clean and safe, and there are many unique neighborhoods in La Jolla with different levels of prestige and real estate prices.

Imperial Beach

Swim, surf, sunbathe, jog, fish, or spend the day building a sandcastle at Imperial Beach, the most southwesterly community in the U.S. This beautiful, sandy beach is a great place to visit for some much-needed relaxation away from the crowds. Quiet, solitary, and still a bit of a hippie community, Imperial Beach is 20 miles south of downtown San Diego and a few miles short of the Mexican border.

Olivenhain

Bordering the areas of Rancho Santa Fe and South Carlsbad, Olivenhain is one of five communities that incorporated in 1986 to form the large city of Encinitas. This low density community consists of about 1,500 homes on lots that average two acres in size, with a projected build out of 1,616 homes total. Characterized by two-lane winding roads lined with eucalyptus trees, trails for horses, bicycles, and pedestrians, and the "Dark” policy, which in turns limits outdoor lighting, Olivenhain is a rural heaven that is aggressively protected by their proud residents.

Pacific Beach

Pacific Beach is the most popular beach destination in the City of San Diego, stretching along 3 miles of the Pacific Ocean from La Jolla to Mission Beach. Pacific Beach has miles of shoreline and beaches along the Pacific Ocean to the west and Mission Bay to the South. The boardwalk overlooking the Pacific Ocean runs from Palisades Park South at Beryl Street in Northern Pacific Beach, to Mission Beach, the neighborhood and beach directly to the south. The beach scene revolves around Crystal Pier, a large pier and hotel at the west end of Garnet Avenue. Pacific Beach is one of the main centers of nightlife in San Diego.

Poway

Poway, with a population of approximately 50,542 residents, is a unique community in San Diego County. Located in northeast San Diego County, Poway is known as “The City in the Country” and prides itself on the fact that over half of the City’s 39.4 square-mile area is preserved as dedicated open space. The community offers a diverse range of housing options, an outstanding school district, a thriving business park with over 19,000 jobs, a broad range of dining and shopping opportunities, beautiful parks, over 82 miles of trails, 50 community events each year, and more. Poway is a great place to live, work, and play!

Rancho Santa Fe

The wealth abundant Rancho Santa Fe is an unincorporated area located in the North County area of San Diego County. The "Ranch", as it is fondly called by residents, is a California Historic Landmark and is known for its large lots, rural ambiance and famous residents who value their privacy. Rancho Santa Fe is also known for it’s horse properties and trails that wind throughout the hilly terrain. Rancho Santa Fe is also a short drive to many beaches, making this a top location for many people across the country to live in.

Solana Beach

Solana Beach is a quiet but charming North County beach front community of about 15,000 residents. Approximately a 30 minute drive from downtown San Diego, this small city is only 4 squares miles, nestled on 1.7 miles of ocean front between Del Mar to the south and Cardiff-By-The-Sea to the North.
Solana Beach boasts four wonderful beaches, the Santa Fe Train station, which provides an easy commute to Downtown or north to Orange County and LA, golf courses, the eclectic Cedros Design Center, and also a highly sought after elementary school district that is consistently ranked top in the United States.
