  In 1969 Signal Landmark Development Company had a vision...that of a marinaesque community to be developed approximately 4 miles south of the Hotel Del Coronado, adjacent to the Silver Strand State Beach. This eclectic collection of homes is known as the Coronado Cays. This is the only community south of Newport Beach to possess this unique feature.

  The Cays, affectionately referred to by the locals, is comprised of numerous inlets and peninsulas each designed with a character all its own, reflecting the architecture and atmosphere of Caribbean vacation spots. Listen carefully and you might just be able to hear Blackbeard calling, "Ships ahoy maties!" There are 10 villages, each with their own personality and flair located within the Cays. 

  The Coronado Cays is also home to the Coronado Cays Yacht Club. In June 1972, pioneers from the bayside Coronado Cays residential community decided to form a yacht club. By September 1973, the Club moved from donated space in the Montego Village sales office into much larger rented space on Grand Caribe Isle. It remained at this location for the next 21 years. On September 4, 1993, construction was begun by General Contractor Douglas E. Barnhart. One year later in September 1994, the new Clubhouse Grand Opening ceremony was attended by virtually the entire Club membership. Today the CCYC offers a host of functions, a working marina and fabulous clubhouse surrounded by an extraordinary waterfront.
